Once connected to data sources, AMADEA
supplies all the pre-defined functions for cleansing (replace missing
values, put aside outlying values, etc).
The transformation step in itself is supported by a comprehensive
operators library. Operators are graphically assembled so that the user
does not need to program. Then the resulting tables can be exported
under most data format available on the market.
AMADEA is based on standards,
it can connect to most of usual data sources like log files, flat files,
RDBMS, XML files, etc... and describes the steps required to produce
elaborated and aggregated data for analysis or models definition.

Transformation

This approach gives AMADEA its
power and places it as the professional data transformation solution
for the future. In other words, a transformation is no longer a complex
computer program designed and executed far from the end-users. It is
now the description of an elementary succession of steps, simple and
understandable, Each actor can follow the whole process.

The central window enables the user to draw and control the execution
of the transformation process. Selecting the output of one of the operators
automatically updates the data grid to reflect the transformations processed
by this operator on the input table. The frames on the left of the screen
give access to transformation operators. The parameters of each operator
can be spelt out in the right of the screen.

created with AMADEA is not defined once for ever,

the parameters associated to the session. Scripts to select the parameters
are web pages that are automatically generated from the definition of
the transformation.

Using AMADEA allows the user to
save a lot of time in defining a transformation. Splitting up the transformation
into elementary steps makes it easier to design, and then maintain data
transformations.
Producing new variables, filtering data, and so on, is
so simple that in fine, the transformation often contains more relevant

AMADEA was built to rapidly handle
large data volumes. It uses its own engine for memory management so as
to optimize the use of the computer memory according to free space. The
